DARK ANGEL FIRE

title

During the reigns of Amenhotep III [1391-1353 BC], his son Akhenaton [1353-1335 BC], but especially those of Merenptah [1224-1214 BC] and Rameses III [1194-1163 BC], attempts were made to invade Egypt by a varying confederation of raiders known as the ‘Sea Peoples’. The main groups were:
….

The Danaans [aka Denyen, Danaus, Danai, or Danuna. They were associated with the Ekwesh [possibly Homer’s Greek Achaeans.]

The Lycians. Their lands were in the Xanthos Valley. Probably came from western Anatolia/western Caria. Their kingdoms were run by the Hittites.
>>>>>

The Shardana/Sherden. Invaded during Merenptah’s reign. Possibly from Sardinia. About 1100 BC occupied the Phoenician coast.
>>>>>

The Shekelesh - they attacked c1220 BC and c1186 BC. They possibly came from Sicily. In the 8th Century BC Greek colonists encountered the Sikels. It was thought came to that island after the Fall of Troy.
>>>>>

The Labu. Also called Libu or Rebu. Possibly came from Libya [North Africa]. They are associated with another group, the Meshwesh.
>>>>

The Karkisa/Kirkash [also called
Qarqisha or Karkm]. Associated with the Lukka and Hittites. They are probably the Biblical Girgashites, the descendants of Girgash, one of the sons of
Canaan in Genesis 10. They settled to the east of the river Jordan between Galilee and the Dead Sea.
>>>>

The Tjakkar/Tjakkarto. Fought alongside the Peleset [Philistines] in Rameses III’s time. Possibly connected with the Teucri people of the Troad [Trojan] area of Asia Minor. And may’ve been displaced by that War. Could be linked with Teucer, legendary founder of Salamis on Cyprus. Although they may’ve originally come from Crete [cp language Eteocretan].
